KELASTAMBANG: PT Borneo Indobara (BIB), a subsidiary of PT Golden Energy Mines Tbk, has secured two Golds, one Silver, and one Excellent Award at the CSR & Pengembangan Desa Berkelanjutan Awards 2025, the company announced in a LinkedIn statement on Thursday.
The awards recognize BIB’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs focused on sustainable rural development, including clean water infrastructure, agricultural empowerment, religious facility support, and strategic community engagement frameworks.
The Gold Awards were presented for the Andaru Potable Water Program and the Karin Feed Mill Program, while the Silver Award went to the Floating Mosque Ziyadatul Abrar Program. In addition, Silvyna Aditia received an Excellent Award for her essay titled “Beyond Empowerment 2.0: Mengukir Dampak Nyata bagi Desa untuk Keberlanjutan Ekonomi dan Sosial” (“Carving Real Impact for Villages Towards Economic and Social Sustainability”).

“These recognitions mark a significant milestone,” the company stated. “BIB will continue to create initiatives that leave lasting value for people, the environment, and the future.”
The Andaru Potable Water Program addresses access to clean drinking water, a priority area in many rural mining-adjacent communities. Meanwhile, the Karin Feed Mill Program supports local agricultural productivity and food security by enabling independent livestock feed production.
The Floating Mosque Ziyadatul Abrar, awarded Silver, contributes to community cohesion and religious access in flood-prone areas by offering an innovative architectural solution tailored to local environmental conditions.
BIB’s CSR strategy aligns with broader Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) commitments in the Indonesian mining sector, where companies are expected to demonstrate direct and measurable impact on local welfare. The awards underscore the growing importance of inclusive rural development as part of mining firms’ social license to operate.
